Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of talents, including being able perform, direct and produce plays, as well as write them teaching, as well as be the director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot expat" who hails originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending rehearsals for productions as a young girl and watching her mom doing her job. As a child, she played in commercials for a number of companies. Anna moved in Toronto for her acting to improve. Later, the actress relocated Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman met Anna at a Los Angeles actor's workshops in 2007. The couple got engaged.
